I AM REQUESTING LASER SURGERY ON MY PIGMENT SPOTS, BECAUSE I WANT:
Pigmentary dermatology surgery aims to reduce and erase the sign of aging that are brown spots (or solar lentigo) that appear on areas exposed to the sun such as the hands, face, legs and décolleté. These small brown spots that dot the skin correspond to clusters of melanin that can be gradually erased thanks to targeted laser sessions or certain peels.
Pigment laser is particularly recommended for these indications. It offers long-lasting results and an undeniable rejuvenating effect.
The pigment laser is specifically designed to treat imperfections on all phototypes, from the lightest to the darkest skin (phototypes I to IV).
It targets the melanin of brown spots, solar lentigines with excellent precision, without risks to the skin. This procedure takes place quickly, in 15 to 30 minutes, with a visible result from the first session.
The patient can come to our aesthetic dermatology practice on their lunch break and return to their activities that same afternoon. Their skin will simply have a slight "sunburn" effect that will require the application of a restorative cream.
The intervention is discreet, with convincing results in the long term.
Lentigo or age spots can be a source of complexes. It indicates sensitivity or overexposure to the sun and yet bears stigmatizing names such as the slang "graveyard flower". The rejuvenating effect of laser for pigment spots is sometimes experienced as a liberation. The patient gets a new skin and a more harmonious complexion.
Before any intervention, an initial consultation allows the cosmetic dermatologist to make a diagnosis of your brown spots and lesions. He checks that the spots do not present any underlying pathology and validates the laser intervention. The treatment protocol includes 3 to 5 sessions spaced one month apart depending on the quantity, size and location of the brown spots to be treated and their melanin load.
The session lasts 15 to 30 minutes during which the dermatologist targets each pigment spot one by one. The laser works by fragmenting the melanin. The excess melanin accumulated in the brown spots is thus destroyed, while preserving the surface layer of the skin, with an impeccable result without visible scars. In order to reduce the patient's discomfort, likely to feel a slight sensation of heat and tingling, the doctor may prescribe an anesthetic cream to the patient to apply thirty minutes before the session.
With each session, the skin appears clearer, firmer and smoother, for an undeniable rejuvenating effect.
The laser procedure causes slight redness and some superficial peeling, as after sunburn. For 15 days after each session, it will be necessary to carefully apply a total sunscreen with an SPF 50+ index and limit as much as possible the exposure to the sun of the treated areas.
The first results are immediate and become more pronounced from session to session, until the pigmentation has completely disappeared.
Contraindications to a laser depigmentation session are mainly related to the causes of hyperpigmentation or the taking of sensitizing medications, vitamins or tanning activators. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are also common contraindications to any laser procedure.
